The swift and thorough restoration of Chateau Biac by the new owners Tony and Youmna Aseily has been nothing short of dramatic.
The vineyards are still being improved, with moves to organic styles of viticulture and handpicking completely replacing the machine and chemical driven previous regime.
Additional plantings are taking place with tighter spaced vines for quality and the soil has been much improved.
If the vineyard work has been quality oriented, then the renaissance of the winery is of no less importance.
Somewhat resembling the new Cos d'Estournel extravaganza, it is entirely gravity fed, brand new, enormous, completely dedicated to making only the best wine from the best fruit and housed in very sympathetically restored buildings on this beautiful estate.
Sometimes it takes outsiders to recognise the potential of a property, and Tony and Youmna have not only recognised it but realised it too. Chapeau!
