All fruit is sourced exclusively from Chateau Blaignan's own Medoc estate, with plantings spanning across a total of 97 hectares. The tried and tested potential of this site can be attributed to its proximity to two limestone mounds, both offering different sunshine exposure and drainage opportunities to suit varietal needs. Soil is limestone-clay, lying on a calcareous limestone base, with sedimentation dating back to the quaternary period. Average vine age is 30 years, with a planting density of 7600 vines per hectare and yields totalling 50 hecto litres per hectare. Up most care is paid in soil management, with winemakers undertaking certified sustainable farming practices in all areas of vineyard management.
