Chateau de Rayne Vigneau
Grapes are sourced exclusively from Rayne Vigneaus 84 hectare estate, located within the Bordeaux Blanc Sec appellation overlooking the Sauternes countryside. Of this, seven hectares are planted with exceptional Sauvignon Blanc, grown to a density of 6666 vines per hectare. Soils comprise of sandy gravel with a clay subsoil, which is ideal as the gravel provides drainage and the clay retains water at depths to prevent hydric stress during summer. The average vine age is 25 years old, and average yields are at the lower end of the spectrum at 35 hectolitres per hectare, giving the wine intensity and concentration.
