Duffour Père et Fils

One of the best and most consistent estates in central Gascony, this domaine has been owned by the Duffour family since 1955. Michel Duffour took over in 1973 and is still passionate about winemaking. His son Nicolas has worked at the estate since 2004 and is the current winemaker.

The 70-hectare vineyard is spread across sunny south-facing slopes, ensuring early ripening of the fruit as well as excellent drainage. The soils are clay and limestone and the average age of the vines is 30 years. Unusually for this fertile region, lower yields are encouraged by pruning more strictly, which in turn brings a greater concentration to the wine.

The approach at Duffour Père et Fils is very much based on quality rather than quantity.
