9 di Dante is the brainchild of Alex Ouziel, under the experienced mentorship of famed Master Blender Mario Baralis. A product made possible by a chance encounter that has developed into close friendship.
Having learnt the Art of Vermouth over 30 years of guarding the secrets of the original Carpano and Antica Formulas, Mario has been happily retired in the Piedmont hills for 20 years. He never saw himself creating a new and original vermouth formula until he crossed paths with Alex and they started discussing how artisanal Piedmont craftsmanship could inspire the taste of a new generation.
9 di Dante comes to life at the foothills of Piemonte, just outside Alba. Here at the heart of the Barolo vineyards, the art of vermouth-making has been mastered and perfected since the XVIII century, when it was appreciated at the court of the House of Savoia. To guarantee its quality and ensure its characteristic artisanal taste, 9 di Dante has chosen to go hand in hand with Distilleria Dr M. Montanaro, the home where in 1885 Francesco Tussoni created the first Grappa di Baralo, and where still today, some of the best Italian Grappas are distilled and aged.
