Marquis Armagnac is crafted by the company founded by the descendants of the most famous gascon of them all, the legendary Musketeer d'Artagnan.

Distillation is in the small mobile alembic stills (although many of them now remain stationary) which traditionally travelled from grower to grower. These continue to be the scene of convivial gatherings during the distilling season which, for Marquis, finishes strictly at the end of december while the wines are still fresh.

The eaux de vie are then aged in hard toasted barrels of french black oak for a double maturation, initially in new barrels, and then in barrels that have been used before, for a gentler aging process.
